Stephen began his professional career in 1998 as a Construction Superintendent, overseeing more than 50 fast-track commercial projects as well as several high-security government facilities. During this time, Stephen was responsible for direct on-site supervision of new construction at the Department of Homeland Security headquarters at Mount Weather, Virginia; the Park Police Headquarters in Prince George County, Maryland; and the remodeling of three floors at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. He also managed rapid-turn commercial construction for nationally recognized retail and hospitality brands, developing early expertise in complex scheduling, coordination, and quality control.

In 2005, Stephen transitioned into the role of Master Woodwright, shifting his focus to hands-on structural craftsmanship. He managed the joinery and erection of authentic timber-frame structures across the country, including multiple commercial projects for Bass Pro Shops. This period reinforced his deep understanding of traditional timber systems, structural loads, and precision execution.

From 2008 to 2013, Stephen served as a Project Manager, overseeing projects from permitting and planning through completion. His experience during this time included management of the timber-frame structure for the Big Cedar Lodge Shooting Academy at Top of the Rock Resort in Ridgedale, Missouri, along with numerous commercial roofing projects throughout Pennsylvania. These projects further expanded his expertise in building envelope systems and long-term performance considerations.

Stephen began his entrepreneurial journey in 2010 and by 2014, he founded Bigfoot Construction, LLC. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a family-owned firm providing commercial and residential construction, large-scale roofing systems, insurance restoration services, and custom timber-frame projects. Stephen remains closely involved in project planning, field execution, and client communication, maintaining a leadership style rooted in accountability and experience.
